B. Washing Method
- Garment Wash
By adding softeners or detergents, clothes are made softer and more comfortable after washing. According to the washing time and the amount of additives, it can be divided into light ordinary washing, ordinary washing and heavy ordinary washing
-Stone Wash
Add a certain size of pumice stone to the washing water to polish the pumice stone and clothes. After washing, the cloth surface was gray and old, and the clothes were slightly to severely damaged.
-Enzmy(Bio) Wash
Enzyme is a cellulase, which can degrade the fiber structure at a certain pH value and temperature, so that the cloth surface can be mildly faded and hairy (produce "peach peel" effect), and get a lasting softening effect .
-Bleach Wash
Rinsing can be divided into oxygen and chlorine bleaching. Oxygen bleaching utilizes the oxidation of hydrogen peroxide at a certain pH value and temperature to destroy the dye structure, thereby achieving the purpose of fading and whitening. Generally, the bleached surface will be slightly reddish. Chlorine bleaching is to use the oxidation of sodium hypochlorite to destroy the dye structure, thereby achieving the purpose of fading. The bleaching effect of chlorine bleach is rough, and it is mostly used for rinsing of indigo denim.
-Snow Wash
Soak the dry pumice with potassium permanganate solution, and then directly grind it with the clothes in a special rotary cylinder. The pumice is polished on the clothes to make the potassium permanganate oxidize the friction points and make the cloth surface irregularly fade, forming Snow-white dots.
C. Q&A
Q:What is the INDIGO dye process (plant dyeing)?
A: INDIGO is the name of the blue dye, which is derived from the chain of natural plants.
Q: Why is it easy to wash denim to fade?
A: Most dyes actually penetrate the fibers, but indigo only sticks to the surface of the yarn, which is why the washed indigo flows into the water. That's why jeans become white with wear. Although other dyes can dye denim blue, it cannot show a unique and popular whitening effect like indigo. It has special properties-it will lighten and wash off, and people like indigo so much.
